Jackie,

The iPhone (and iPad) is worth the cost in my opinion (and lots of others' opinions), but your mileage may vary. It's very user-friendly; that's for sure.
You can transfer pictures to and from the iPad via iTunes on your PC or Mac (with included USB cable). You can also transfer photos using iCloud.

Thanks!
Matt

Phones: I still don't know which one. Is the Apple worth the cost? I'm 63 yo. Not a gamer.
Tablets: The iPad doesn't have a USB drive. How do you get your pictures on it? Is it worth the money?

These are all great sites but the Google sites are the only ones that have any utility for me. How about running a similar posting specifically addressing the needs of Seniors! Not just Social Security and Burial Funds but some sites that help Seniors navigate the Net. Believe me that is the biggest obstacle for persons of my generation. If we all had some kid to show us around it would be easy, because they Surf at the speed of light and have always had this Technology. You know what they say about tricks and old dogs!!! LOL!!! This would also be great for the monthly teaching articles in this news letter. Would you please share this with the techs who write the articles and help us through this WEB!!!

No I haven't done a training video on it. However, it's a pretty straightforward feature. You can learn about it here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/mission-control.html

I'd like to lean more toward the iPhone, just based on user friendliness alone. Outlook contacts and calendar synchronization should work just fine and it has GPS functionality for Home Depot hunting. The iPhone should soon have text-to-speech capability, as well as the ability to convert speech to text. There are a lot of exciting things coming out in iOS 5 this Fall, so it's anybody's guess as to which additional features the iPhone will have.

Feel free to do a little googling for apps on either platform for the functionality you both need, but my feeling is that the iPhone would be the best choice.

Hope this helps :-)

Possibly. Some Android releases have their own task killing functionality, but for others, Advanced Task Killer may be needed.
