Does this look familiar? If so STOP and read below:
ThinkPoint is a fake rogue anti-spyware program that is part of the Fake Microsoft Security Essentials infection. When this infection is installed on your computer it will display a fake Microsoft Security Essentials alert that states that it has detected an Unknown Win32/Trojan on your computer. It will then prompt you to scan your computer.
If you see this screen to the left, do NOT click it. If the fake scan has “completed”, do NOT click “OK”. Instead, hold down the Alt key and press the F4 key on your keyboard. Do this repeatedly until all ThinkPoint windows are closed. After performing this step, call My Computer Works at 1-877-273-2268 so our technicians can help you.
If you accidentally clicked “OK” on the above ThinkPoint screen as shown on the left, there may be a screen showing a large ThinkPoint logo with “Normal Startup” and “Safe Startup” options upon rebooting your computer. If you see this screen, do NOT click it. Instead, call My Computer Works.
We did not create ThinkPoint, but we can help you remove it. Call My Computer Works at 877-273-2268, to get assistance from one of our US based technicians.
